Step 1:Warming

up and Lead-in

1.    

Show Ss some pictures about my daughter and ask : Is she

cute? But sometimes she makes me crazy. Why?

2.    

Ss  look at the

pictures and learn: Could you please tell stories for me? Could you please take

off my clothes. I want to pick strawberries in the countryside. Could you

please buy me some drinks and snacks? Let’s go to the mall. Could I invite my

friends to a party? Eat outside, go to an amusement park, take a trip, go to

the zoo…

3.    

I also ask my daughter to do something: eat by herself and

quickly, read a book before sleeping, go upstairs by herself, water the

flowers, listen to the teacher at school, be good with classmates, take care of

her younger sister…

Step 2: Discussion:

1.    

Ask the Ss to discuss: What do you ask your parents’

permission for? & What do your parents always ask you to do?

2.    

Ss in pairs to act out.

Step 3: 1a

1.    

Ss read the phrases in 1a.

2.    

Ss write parents or teenagers next to each phrases.

Step 4: Pair-work:1b

1.    

Ss in pairs ask and answer:

Parent: Could you clean

your room?

Child: Yes, I can.


Child: Could I invite my

friends to a party?

Parent: No, you can’t have

a party. You have a test on Monday.

2.    

Some pairs act out.

Step 5: Listening

Ss listen to a conversation between Sandy and her mom. Check

the things in 1a that they hear.

Check the answers.

Step 6: Listening:1d

Ss listen for the first time and take down some key words

quickly.

Step 7:

Listen and fill in the blanks:

1.    

Ss look at the tapescripts and listen to the conversation

again and fill in the blanks.

Check the answers.

Ss read the conversation together.

Step 8:  Group-work 1e:

1.    

Imagine you’re having a party. Ask your partner for help with

these things: go to the store, buy drinks and snacks, do the dishes, clean the

living room, take out the rubbish…

2.    

Ss in groups make their own conversations.

3.    

Ask three groups to act out.

Step 9:

Homework:

Ss finish the exercise
